The current market landscape is effectively a duopoly where NielsenIQ and Europanel (Kantar and GfK) are bound to continue under-investing in the foreseeable future. As a consequence, their clients, brands manufacturing FMCG products and retailers, are significantly unsatisfied with the current data and analytics services to a point where some are starting to develop their own solutions and/or are trying to leverage more of their first-party data.
