Logistics Coordinator - Summer Internship

We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator Intern to join our team this summer. This position will commence on May 6, 2024, and will end on August 30, 2024. Primary duties and responsibility are to assist the Shipping Department team on the following tasks:

• Prepare bills of lading; check items to be shipped against orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct;
• Maintain the department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping records;
• Plan loads in expedition software per shipping date, level load, forecast and report necessary capacity week to week;
• Coordinate with production planning to ensure material is produced as required;
• Confer with project managers to coordinate production and shipping activities, and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays;
• Dispatch external carriers, request permits and escorts as required;
• Contact customers in reference to shipping and/or delivery inquiries;
• Coordinate with internal purchasing department for incoming materials to be received;
• Maintain trailer inventory and logs;
• Communicate and facilitate with customers and various internal departments for the purposes of scheduling and shipping as per project requirements;
