Manufacturing Engineer

Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products or processes. Priorities include, process improvement, problem resolution, project management of Capex projects and employee training.   Will use appropriate continuous improvement tools and methodologies to analyze current plant and equipment layouts, fabrication methods, material flow and handling. Conduct research to recommend and implement improvements based on leading technology and engineering principles.

• Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators;
• Develop manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design performing research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment;
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout resulting in cost reduction and quality improvement;
• Knowledge of the “lean process” and the pursuit of value stream improvements; 
• Establish operational priorities and improve operational systems and procedures such as work instructions, Kanbans, 5S, etc.;
