Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager at Mathspace, you will lead a team of 12 software engineers across three functional groups. You will manage, mentor, and strategically grow our team to enhance our web and mobile applications. You will play a critical role in shaping our future, driving the recruitment and onboarding of new talent, and ensuring our engineering practices foster innovation and efficiency. Key Responsibilities:

• Enrich the Mathspace web and mobile apps that help teach hundreds of thousands of students every month.
• Provide direct management to engineers, facilitating feedback, and conducting one-on-ones.
• Oversee performance management, and provide mentorship for professional development.
• Tackle challenging problems creatively and encourage continuous learning within the team.
• Play an active role in all aspects of our agile development process. Requirements
• Strong software engineering background with experience managing engineering teams.
• Industry experience in developing web products using Python, Django, TypeScript and React.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative leadership style.
• Passionate about education and technology, ideally with experience in a startup environment. Bonus Points
